2018 :: YEAR IN REVIEW
The year 2018 will be one we will never forget. We photographed so many wonderful people, beautiful weddings and most importantly documented unforgettable moments. If you follow us on Instagram, you’ll know that we welcomed a little human back in August – which gives reflecting back on the year a whole new meaning.
Our 2018 wedding season was strongly inspired by moments. Weddings are full of meaningful moments which are often over looked. Like when the bride is alone with her dress before slipping into it, a moment between a groom and his father, a hug between friends, and a tearful moment during the speeches.
After having our little girl Ivy, moments between brides + grooms with their parents had a whole new weight to them we never realized before. I’ve always been that girl that cries at weddings but now that we have our own sweet little girl, traditions like the parent dances really get me in the feels, every time.
2018, thank you for your moments of challenge and blessings. It’s been a year to remember for all of our couples, but also for us – for being the lucky ones who captured their best moments. Here is a collection of moments from our 2018 season. Turn up the volume and have a watch.
To our couples: Thank you so much for your constant support. It’s a pleasure to document your cherished moments. We look forward to keeping in touch and following along as your family flourishes! So much love to you all!
2015 brought so many great things to us. We met so many wonderful people, traveled to great places – local and abroad – and were lucky enough to pursue our dreams while doing it. As I was looking back on this glorious year I decided to compile some images to reflect our experiences, and since it’s new years eve, there’s no better time to share them with everyone!read more
I used to be a total grinch – seriously. In the past, I have been guilty of not doing ANYTHING Christmas-y until December 1st. I was that person who would snarl at Christmas carols on the radio, roll my eyes at Christmas lights, and refuse to do any shopping. Yeah, I told you, a TOTAL grinch. Until I started having Christmases with my in laws. Brandon and his family would bake the most delicious cookies, and pretty much go all out for the holidays. And this year it happened – my tree was up and completely decorated in the middle of November. My heart has officially grown three sizes people. I’m sooo excited for the holiday season this year. And I have the people below to thank for my high spirits this season.read more
The grass was cut, the chairs were perfectly lined, and the sun light bounced off the white crisp tent.
Kaitlin + Ryan’s wedding was held on her family’s beautiful and pristine property in Stouffville and it totally blew my mind. Actually, the word pristine just isn’t perfect enough to describe the state of Kaitlin’s aunt and uncle’s 14 acre property. We were lucky enough to tour some of the fields before the ceremony and I instantly became filled with ideas and excitement for the photos I was going to be able to create with the gorgeous backdrop.read more
We heart traveling. A LOT. So it’s in our nature to jump at any opportunity that involves hopping on a plane! But what’s even better is when you’re able to travel and share the experience with great friends. When Ashley + Mike approached us with the idea of shooting their wedding in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, we were over the moon with excitement, joy, and overall giddiness. The anticipation was obviously killing us because Ashley and I spent months sending each other photos and photography inspiration!read more
As I stepped into my salt covered boots, wrapped a scarf around my face, slapped on some gloves, and buttoned up my wool coat this morning, I thought to myself “I’m so over winter – like, totally over it.” Who’s with me?! The thought of spring being around the corner makes me feel all giddy and warm inside and the sooner spring comes, the sooner wedding season can begin! I CANNOT CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT – and the anticipation is killing me!read more
Megan + Alexis’ love story is one for the ages. They first met in Halifax where they went to university together. As the story goes, they started dating and then stopped because as Megan puts it “it fizzled for all sorts of reasons that in hindsight I believe were due to young love.” Two years later, Alexis starting working in Ottawa and Megan was back in Toronto. They then found themselves back together attempting a long distance relationship which ended after they couldn’t find the right balance.read more
